Replace Plumbing

13 years of sitting with no winterization will cause nothing but problems. Several leaks were found including the shower valve leak. The problem is that the piping diameter has actually expanded from years of freezing. This makes it impossible to just go out and replace a section. New pipe is actually smaller than the old stuff.

The obvious answer is to just go ahead and replace it all. It seems appropriate to do this since we were changing the water heater, turlet, shower mixing valve, sink faucets and all of the plumbing under the kitchen sink.

Although not really documented here, all of the old copper tubing was removed. New PEX tubing and about a billion fittings of all sizes was purchased to complete the job.

Stay tuned for the results….
