Once I had both new axles bolted in and was ready to clean up Kimber noticed that the spindles were different. My heart sank. Time is running short for our first trip. This has to work right the first time!

This is the old spindle - note the taper.

The new spindle has (almost) no taper.

The answer was simple - put the rotor on, bearings and all. Tighten the nut and see if there is any play. The rotor slipped on easily and sealed perfectly. The outer bearing slipped right in and the washer went on right behind it. The nut was added last and hand tightened. It spun freely and smoothly. There is no end play or unusual movement. I think everything will be fine.
