Remove The Grease Cap

Remove the grease cap by prying it off the rotor. Remember to use the proper tool for the job. In this case it was not wise to use the wifes good 1/2 inch wood chisel. (after taking this picture she gave me several good reasons why not).

A good screwdriver should be all that you need to remove the cap.

Be careful not to damage the cap. It should not be necessary to use more than a screwdriver. Do not use a hammer and screwdriver combination and try to "tap" the cap off as this will only bend the cap and perhaps allow dirt and debris to enter the bearings - a big NO NO.

Set the cap aside for cleaning.
